  • Description

Android Cookbook, edited by Ian F. Darwin and published by O’Reilly, presents a collection of problems and solutions for Android developers. It will help the programmers use guidelines for designing successful Android apps, work with UI controls, effective layouts, and graphical elements. The book will also help you learn how to make the optimum usage of Android’s rich features, save and retrieve application data in files, SD cards, and embedded databases. It explains how to access RESTful web services, RSS and ATOM feeds and other information from websites; how to create location-aware services to find locations and landmarks, and situate them on Google Maps and OpenStreetMap; and how to test and troubleshoot individual components and your entire application.

It covers the entire topics with fine examples . A practical app is too good to understand with the coding and the layout .

A book for intermediate android programmers

If you have some coding experience in android such as activities, images loading, UI , you can use this book to do those same stuffs in a more standardized way(atleast without bugs).
You can use this even if you dont know basics but you never understand the working. In this, book, A problem is stated and a solution is given with minimium description on its working. Ofcourse, that is why it is called as "Android cookbook".
