Dentistry and dental care led the way in the tran- sition from an outdated medicine to a modern version that includes advanced diagnostics, modern treatment, and preventative dental care. Dentistry has advanced significantly over the years, from beliefs about “evil spirits” and “tooth worms” causing dental diseases to the newest, forefront artificial intelligence-based technologies! Despite all these developments, there is still an absence of research in this field of expertise concerning the knowledge and abilities of medical science and engineering backgrounds for the diagnosis and ongoing maintenance of oral health.
