The Backflow preventer valve is typically used to shield private underground seepage frameworks and for flooding protection which is mainly caused by the public sewer system. Application: • Buildings having plumbing fixtures on ground level & basements • Buildings in low-lying & flood-prone areas • Preferably all buildings, as a good engineering practice Woking Principle: In normal working conditions, the wastewater will flow from the building through the back flow valve into the sewer. Astral Back Flow Preventer Valve applies a simple and sturdy mechanism of non-return flow through a flap & sealing ring. During a backwater incident, backwater from the sewer is prevented from entering the building by the backwater flap. The flap can also be locked manually if required. Standards & Specifications: Astral Back Flow Preventer Valves are being manufactured according to EN 13564 Installation: • The valve should be installed in the main waste line connecting to the municipal manhole. Also, ensure to install it after the connection of the last plumbing fixture. • The valve should be installed in visible, easily accessible spaces • Preferably, the valve should be installed in the inspection chamber so that it can be easily operated & maintained and protected from any external damage • Valve should be installed on levelled & compacted surface. Spirit level provided on top of the valve can be used to maintain the correct level
