Summary of the Book

Mankind has failed against the demonic Titans. These giants have all but annihilated most of the world’s population. The survivors built a great wall and lived in cities behind its defense. However, the Colossal Titan breached that wall, allowing other Titans to enter the inner confines. Mikasa is one of the brave warriors who fight against these terrifying monsters. Together with her best friend Eren Yeager, she has proved to be a worthy fighter. However, when a Titan corners her, she feels all hope is lost. But that Titan is killed by another, seemingly more powerful Titan. This newcomer takes on the others and begins helping the humans. Is there even a sliver of a chance that there is hope after all?

About Hajime Isayama

Hajime Isayama is a Japanese mangaka and is known for the Attack on Titan series. The series is currently being serialized in the Bessatsu Shonen Magazine.

Isayama won the Shonen category of the 35th Kodansha Manga Award in 2011 and his work was nominated for both the 4th annual Manga Taisho award and the 16th annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.
