Summary Of The Book
The Bhagavad-Gita is considered the main source on yoga and a symmetrisation of India’s Vedic knowledge.
The book is said to be the record of conversation between Arjuna and his friend and spiritual mentor, Lord Krishna. The conversation is set in the battlefield when Arjuna suddenly has a lot of doubts concerning his battle with his friends and relatives, the purpose of his existence, and his course after his death.
Lord Krishna enlightens Arjuna spiritually and answers his questions. In the process of doing so, Lord Krishna explains transcendental knowledge. He explains the different Yogas namely the Karma-Yoga, Jnana-Yoga, Dhyana-Yoga, and Bhakti-Yoga and many concepts that lead to spiritual enlightenment.
This book is the largest selling version of Bhagavad-Gita in the world. It has been translated and published in more than 58 languages like French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, and also many Indian languages.
About A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). His name was Abhoy Charan De before his life of renunciation.

A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada wrote about spirituality. Most of his writings were based on Lord Krishna. His books preach a righteous way of life.
He was born in Kolkata in the year 1896. He was educated at Scottish Church College. He was married, had children, and owned a pharmaceutical business before he embarked on the life of renunciation in 1950. International Society for Krishna Consciousness was founded under his leadership in the year 1966. He has followers throughout the world. Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura was his spiritual master. He expired in the year 1977.
