A sea captain’s duties are fairly simple most of the time as he is just expected to guide the ship and its crew safely to the planned destination. But, when the ship gets hijacked by nasty pirates, what is the captain to do? Directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Tom Hanks, Barkhad Abdirahman and Barkhad Abdi, Captain Phillips is a biographical action adventure film about the captain of an American cargo ship who is confronted by Somali pirates who usurp his ship. This film is loosely based on the novel A Captain's Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALS, and Dangerous Days at Sea.
