The film had three love stories running concurrently, though not interlinked because the character dont really interact with one another despite the location, a crossroad habitation that they share. Govinda (Raj Kapoor), the disheartened dothi-clad Ahir boy ruthlessy separated from his lady love the outcast Chavli (a deglamourized Meena Kumari) who is also banished from the village. Johnny Braganza (Shammi Kapoor), a waiter who is lack from a jail term after falsely implicated on charges of bootlegging by the hotel owner, Ferrara (David) who succeeds in seducing Johnny a girlfriend Stella (Kumkum).
