Not For Beginners!!!

I am a Java programmer and I required a book that taught me how python works... I think it serves my purpose well cos I knew the basics of Python already... I've been using it for the past 4-5 days and I'm pretty happy with it.

As I said, this is not a book for the beginners, If you have no clue what Python is or in-fact don't know how to program, please look elsewhere. As for those who know what they want. This book helps you too well.

Excellent for experienced programmers. Total beginners stay away.

Dive Into Python is an excellent "quick dive" resource for busy programmers who are beginning Python. If you have done some basic C or Java progamming in the past (no need to be expert though) - then this book would serve you best. Mark Pilgrim is clear about the intended audience when he says : "You won't find long-winded treatises on the aesthetics of API design or the history of computer science. I don't have time for that, and neither do you"

It is a book that works like a hands-on train...
