About Devdutt Pattnaik

Devdutt Pattnaik is an Indian physician, writer and leadership consultant. He is the author of several other books including: Myth = Mithya: A Handbook of Hindu Mythology, The Pregnant King and Jaya: An Illustrated Retelling of the Mahabharata.

A graduate of Grant Medical College, Mumbai, he worked in Pharma for fourteen years before moving on to a career in writing.

Great product

This is a very interesting book. The author has taken a bit of liberty when it comes to his assertions wrt comparative mythology. However, it is over-all a good book & much can be learned.

Not AS exciting as expected...

I've been a fan of Devdutt Pattanaik w.r.t. his mythology related books, and i became a fan of his works, with his book "Myth = Mithia". I expected this book to be as exciting as Myth = Mithia, but it isn't.

Or its possible that I've read too much of his books, and was expecting this to cross the previous levels, perhaps. :) Its always possible. We always expect more and more.

The book is very informative though. Lots of matter to make a note of. Perhaps if One can go through with patience,...

I could not have asked any thing better on the subject. I am very apprehensive about reading an Indian author on Indian subject, but Mr patnaik proved me wrong. It is so simple, through, concise and more importantly with out any bias of any kind. Must read.. thanks
