Q:Is the base sand or water?
A:It is sand. But the quality of material and manufacturing is substandard. My child suffered mouth infection because of the low grade plastic.

Q:How to stand it up direction ??
A:There is big size valve at bottom or base of product, open it and add water or sand in it and close and enjoy bounce back of product after hit or punch. It stand only after filling water or sand.
