  • Description

Bertie Wooster gets into and out of trouble, with a little help from the gentleman’s gentleman: Jeeves. This first volume of the Jeeves Omnibus collects three of Jeeves’ funniest adventures for P. G. Wodehouse fans.

    Summary of the Book

    Thank You, Jeeves

Bertie Wooster knew he should have put that darned banjolele away. It was always driving Jeeves mad, and now his once-loyal valet has chosen to give him his notice. Bertie knows he can’t survive one minute without Jeeves, but how can he convince him to stay?

    The Code of the Woosters

Bertie Wooster blames his current problem on his weakness for good food. Aunt Dahlia has managed to blackmail him into duping an antique dealer to sell her an 18th century cow creamer. If he doesn’t help her, she will cancel his invitation for lunch at her house. Adding to Bertie’s troubles is his friend Gussie Fink-Nottle who can’t seem to decide if he wants to get married or if he wants to study the effects of a full moon on the love life of newts. As usual, Bertie’s neck-deep in trouble, and it’s up to Jeeves to help him get out.

    The Inimitable Jeeves

Bertie Wooster’s Aunt Agatha wants him married fast. She’s even picked out a girl for him: Honoria Glossop. And Bingo Little, Bertie’s friend, can’t seem to stay single. He falls for seven girls, one after another. It’s a perfect mess and Jeeves needs to sort it out!

    Thank God I bought it!

I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this book in spite of favorable reviews as was doubtful whether my "light reading" would be hindered by last century English and I would give up before even start enjoying the famous "stiff-upper-lipped" English humor.
However after a few initial hiccups I was saturated with the overwhelming joy of reading a REALLY REALLY GOOD (cliched!) book. The battle over the creamer, the expression of the shocked uncle after the niece declared that she would ...

    Jeeves the Saviour

Jeeves was there when I was young, Jeeves was there when I grew up and Jeeves is still there through my middle age. I am sure Jeeves will be with me till the end.
