JQuery in Action (English, Paperback, Bibeault Bear)
jQuery In Action is a book that provides an introduction and guidelines to use jQuery in order to reduce the workload and increase the efficiency while developing JavaScript or web-based applications.
Summary Of The Book
In today’s world, a lot of applications in mobiles, smartphones, tablets, and desktops are developed using Java, most of which are web-based. These mostly use the help of Javascript, that makes the code run up to innumerable lines. jQuery, a cross-browser Javascript library, helps reduce 20 lines of code to almost three lines.
jQuery in Action is a book that provides guidelines on how to take coding in Javascript to a new, more efficient level. It shows how to handle events, include animations and Ajax in web pages. The book contains unique “lab pages” that explain each new concept with the help of a practical example. It also covers concepts on how jQuery interacts with other frameworks and tools. Prior knowledge about JavaScript and Ajax is required for readers to gain mastery in jQuery, along with the assistance of jQuery in Action.
The topics included in the first part of the book are Introducing jQuery, Bringing pages to life with jQuery, Selecting the elements upon which to act, Energizing pages with animations and effects, and Events are where it happens. Apart from this, the book also shares information on jQuery utility functions, and Ajax’s interaction with the server.
The second part deals with the user interface of jQuery, including mouse interactions and UI widgets. This edition of the book was published in 2010.
