About the Authors

Albert Lehninger was an American biochemist in the field of bioenergetics. He made the most important contribution in understanding metabolism at a molecular level. He is the author of a number of classic texts, including: Biochemistry, The Mitochondrion, and Bioenergetics.

David L. Nelson is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is also the Director of Academic Program for the Institute for Cross-college Biology Education at the University of Wisconsin.
