In Vedas, short but complete sentences which introduce Brahma are called Mahavakyas. In Shaiva tradition there are four mahavakyas followed by five in Vaishnavas, one in Saura, twenty-two in Skanda, eight in Ganapatya, one in Shakta and twenty-five as most in Nigraha tradition as compilation. This book is short in appearance but very useful as it consists Nivritti Bhashya (Commentary of Salvation) written by Shri Nigrahacharya who stabilizes all the Mahavakyas. Nigrahacharya was guided by Surya Deva in dream about Saura Mahavakya and told to write this commentary. Praising of every Acharya is included along with Nyasa-Vidhana for every Sampradaya.
