Mrituinjay provides a philosophical and psychological insight into the Mahabharatha. The book portrays the idiosyncrasies of each character in very profound way. This book is written from the point of view of Karna, the sixth son of Kunti who is most often reduced to an antagonist in the modern renditions of the Epic.
Summary of the Book
Mrituinjay is the autobiography of Karna, which portrays him with all his flaws and does not show him as an epitome of goodness. This book is an outstanding example of literary masterpiece which examines the meaning of life through the various characters of Mahabharatha. The book comprises of six dramatic soliloquies out of which four are by Karna and the rest by Kunti, Duryodhana, Shatruntapa, Vrishali and Krishna. The author draws similarity between Karna and Krishna, and hints at a mystical link between them, thereby changing the reader’s perspective of his sins.
