Ajoy K. Ghatak is Meghnad Saha Distinguished Professor of The National Academy of Sciences India, Prayagraj. He received his B.Sc. from Agra College, M.Sc. from Delhi University and Ph.D. from Cornell University. He was a Research Associate at Brookhaven National Laboratory. He received D.Sc. (Honoris Causa) from University of Burdwan in 2007. He joined IIT Delhi in 1966 where he became a professor in 1974. His research interests are in Fiber Optics & Quantum Mechanics. He is recipient of the 2008 SPIE Educator award in recognition of his unparalleled global contributions to the field of fiber optics research, and his tireless dedication to optics education worldwide
Good book for optics. If you are buying this book for waves and ossiclation then it won't be much beneficial but if you are buying it for optics then it's a gem . And it's a multicolour book
