The Panasonic digital camera has a LEICA DC VARIO ELMARIT lens with a focal length of 4.5 - 108 mm and a 35 mm equivalent focal length of 25 - 600 mm. The Lumix DMC-FZ40 has a massive 24x optical zoom and digital zoom of 4x that bring all the details of your subject in focus. Experiment with the CCD image sensor, which enables the 16 megapixel resolution of your images.

The camera channels powerful features in a professional-esque body. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ40 Performance

I bought this camera in US from Amazon. The camera performance is really good amongst advanced mega zoom point-and-shoot cameras. There are also Sony and Canon counterparts available in the market that provide little better performance than FZ-40, but, they charge you much higher. They just provide a larger CMOS sensor to provide little enhanced pictures under low-light. But at the end all of these are just a point & shoot cameras.
