Parzania (DVD English)

The film is based on the true story of Dara Modi's family. It revolves around a Parsi family which loses their son in the horrible riots that took place after Godhra and how the family deals with the crisis. Parzania is set against the backdrop of the Gujarat riots which took place after the Godhra incident. The Godhra incident happens wherein 58 Hindu religious piligrims are burnt alive by a Muslim mob. As a reaction to this incident, communal riots ensue shortly thereafter wherein several Muslims are killed by Hindus. Cyrus,(Naseeruddin Shah) Shernaz(Sarika) and his daughter Dilshad(Pear Barsiwala) manage to escape the carnage and his son was missing. People start to question governments official explanation of the incident which downplays any conspiracy. As a result, a Human Rights Commission is formed.Then what happened next is the crux of the story.
