Bought the 4tb blue drive about two weeks ago. I got it at a very descent price of Rs.9,500, with a 3 year warranty. Its working fine giving a write speed of about 80-95 mbps.The harddisk material and built is pretty good. I have read about many issues where the drive might brick. I have a 1tb one since last few years still working fine. Few tips might help improve the life-

Great product.
The available space is 3.4 Tb.
It's better to go for 4Tb for 8k, than 2Tb for 5.5k , if checking money wise else if comparing data saktey wise I would suggest 2 - 2Tb over 4Tb.

Nice product
Product was great but transfer speed is very low it’s like 15mb/sec like that. Got it for 7300 can’t expect more than that.

Nice !! It provides 3.63 TB as expected and in my case, it connects to laptop and working properly but it is connecting to my desktop intermittently and it is not connecting to Samsung TV in my home. May be because of 4 TB doesn't connect to Television. Overall good because I would save my all data frm laptop to hard drive.

Buying Sea Gate Hard drives outside from India through online will not be covered under warranty due to the regulations.
In Amazon*com there is a 5 TB hard drive(14K~ approx including the shipment and import fee) without external power but warranty is of only one year and that too if you stay in US.

Q:I just got this 5TB drive delivered yesterday. And I'm facing an issue where file transfering speed after around 100GB falls down to 0 bytes/sec.Also the entire system hangs. Has anyone else faced it?
A:the main possibly solution of your problem is that check the data whatever you are transeferring because either its in corrupt form or it contain virus which hangs the computer.
