“Shavukaru” is a life journey of a middleclass man “Murali Krishna” who worked as a solider in Indian Military. They are a happy family with two children (Raju, Yamuna). Due to sudden demise of his wife, Murali has to quit his job to take care of his children. He starts a tiny grocery store in his village. Raju completes his studies and starts working with a bank in a nearby town while Yamuna pursing her graduation. As per their concern, they never meet with any of their relatives since the childhood.
