Takshila Gems Blowing Conch / Blowing Shankh / Vamavarti Shankh for Puja Ritauls Blowing Shankh  (White)

The shankh is kept in puja to blown. The sound it produced was called shankanad. Nowadays, the shankha is blown at the time of worship in Hindu temples and homes, especially in the ritual of the Hindu aarti, when light is offered to the deities. It has been mentioned in ‘Varaha Puran’ that one should not open the door of temple without first blowing the shankh. The left turned shankh is blown before the start of puja or performance of aarti.
