NICE BOOK but LITTLE GRUESOME
I had watched the movie also. I loved al pacino and marlon brando in the movie. But once i completed the entire book i felt that the book seemed to be slightly better. Mario Puzo has concentrated a lot about the Italian society during the post-world war time. The story telling ability of Mario Puzo was amazing. While reading this book i felt that i am watching a movie. That must be the quality or ability of any fiction books especially if the story line is concerned about underworld which many of the people haven't know about. The usage of lucid language gives a good comfort while reading. Those who already watched the movie "God Father" go through this book, you will definitely experience a change and sure get impressed a lot.

Engaging
Classic that is intelligent and engaging. The characters are depicted in detail that added to the richness of the novel. Highly recommended. I may be in minority but I preferred the book to the movie (which is great as well). I just find the nuanced approach in books more enriching.
