About Ernst Gombrich

Ernst Gombrich was an art historian who spent most of his time working in the United Kingdom. He was born an Austrian and became a naturalized British citizen in 1947. He has authored many works of cultural history and art history. His book, The Story of Art, has been widely regarded as one of the most accessible introductions to the visual arts. Art and Illusion is regarded by critics to be one of his most influential works.
