The Xbox 360 gaming console is a versatile platform for high definition gaming. This is proven with the Far Cry 3 series. It is the third installment in the Far Cry series and the critically acclaimed First-person shooter. Developed by Ubisoft and its associated development firms in Montreal and Shanghai, Far Cry 3 is the much awaited sequel to 2008’s Far Cry 2. The game released in 2012 November. The game did in fact get delayed by a few weeks due to last minute patches and tweaks by the developers ahead of its launch.

Far Cry 3 is set on an isolated tropical island situated somewhere in between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. The island that the protagonist Jason Brody finds himself in is the centre of some mysterious activity and is filled with deranged inhabitants. While on vacation, Jason and his friends are taken captive and held by a group of gang members. The game is set in an open world environment with FPS elements.

The game includes a skill tree and experience points, together with a crafting system. This is for helping in leveling up the player based on the experience gained during gameplay. The experience plays an important role in how the player performs during the game, for example, Jason can shoot enemies behind cover or other objects in general while in crouch mode depending on  the experience level.

This also helps the player in Takedowns during the game. Many times, you will be given a choice of how to proceed, either with guns blazing, or silently. Choosing the silent option of the full blown violent option is entirely up to the player’s discretion. However, there will be instances where Silent Takedowns is the best option and the more experience you have, the better your takedown skills will be as well. The game’s map is about ten times more than in the previous games, which means there is greater freedom of roaming and more chances to explore.

The players have the ability to scan, survey and plan out their attacks. You can combine stealth approaches and also take pictures of the area with your camera. The camera can also be used to survey the place and trace out the best possible path toward a goal. The main goal in this game is to rescue your friends from the pirates and their leader Vaas. The pirates work for a noted slave trafficking ring and often ferry captives across. The game has a PEGI rating of 18 for the Xbox 360.
