Synopsis and Features

Venom is back and he is at his most vengeful form yet. Trying to fight him will only land you in a world of trouble. As you advance through the game you will inherit his powers, but this is not as good as it sounds. The alien symbiote that powers Venom will combine with Spiderman’s abilities and unleash its deadly potential on the unsuspecting citizens of New York City. Challenging his toughest enemy yet, Spiderman must defeat the alien’s evil intentions and save the city of New York.

Developed by Amaze Entertainment and published by Activision, Spiderman: Web Of Shadows features an array of features that make its gameplay interesting. The single-player campaign starts off with a cliff-hanger as you have to search for Mary Jane Watson in a city filled with Symbiotes.  The story will take your through a series of missions where you have to create a sonic wave that will help eliminate the symbiote terror.

The combat in the game has been tweaked as you can now combine an array of different punch and kick combos to silence your enemies. This is especially fun when you are in big room fighting a large number of enemies. If you are fan of stealth games, the game allows you to sneak into air ducts, secret bases and more.

If you have been a fan of the comics you will see all the signature bosses and enemies such as Shocker, Tinkerer, Kraven, Jackal and more. Taking down these bosses will take extra effort as they are stronger than the normal symbiote enemies. You can take down enemies much faster by using power-up slots. You can choose up to 5 power-ups in a single level and earn points by eliminating enemies. The points earned by you will allow you to unlock more abilities.

Skill points are automatically added to your arsenal after you defeat enemies. This helps you in improving the skills allotted to you. Skills range from slamming 2 enemies with a single Web Slam to pulling off a rare power combo. The game even follows a RPG like system where you can choose what Spiderman replies to others questions. There are 3 choices that are color-coded into Red, Grey and Black. Red marks a positive reply, Grey a neutral one and Black marks a negative approach.

Depending on the choices you make you can assume the role of a good or a bad guy. This is an interesting concept as you get to experience the powers of both sides. Spiderman: Web Of Shadows leaves the choice in your hand. You can save victims or kill them off and this makes for an immersive gameplay experience.
