The Last of Us is critically acclaimed due to its exceptional writing, sound design, voice acting, music, level design and art direction. This game received a rating of 10 out of 10 from IGN and 8 out of 10 from GameSpot because it is holistically phenomenal.

Set in a post-apocalyptic future, the storyline of this this thrilling game follows a man named Joel who along with a young girl named Ellie has to make his way through a United States that has been plagued by a deadly infection, a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus, that has turned majority of the masses into zombie-like creatures. The player controls Joel and has a variety of firearms and improvised weapons at his/her disposal. The player must also be very stealthy while making his or her way through the chaos. Furthermore, the gameplay requires you to explore the ravaged expanse where anyone will attack you for the resources you have; its a kill or be killed world. The single-player prequel chapter allows you to get a deeper insight of Ellie’s past.

This game won more than 200 awards from magazines, newspapers and websites from all across the world. A commercial hit, The Last Of Us was the second-biggest video game launch in the year 2013 with more than 1.3 million units sold in its first week of release.
