Infamous [Essentials]  (for PS3)

If you had the power to wield electricity to your every whim, would you help the catastrophe-stricken city of yours or would you use it to control others for your selfish interests? Infamous is an action-adventure single-player PS3 game that was developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Computer Entertainment.

In the game, the player controls Cole MacGrath, a bike messenger who, while transporting a delivery, gets caught in the center of an explosion that takes out six blocks of the fictional Empire City and grants him electricity-based super powers. The tragedy prompts the government to make the city a quarantine zone as a plague starts to flourish. Disconnected from the world, the city gets consumed by chaos as three other individuals who are gifted with extraordinary abilities as well start to control notorious gangs of the three islands that constitute the city. Cole, now working for the FBI, sets out to find a missing agent who was last seen in Empire City. However, Cole is also confronted by the First Sons, a fraternal organization of rogues that was formed in medieval Europe and is ruled by a man with various super powers who wishes to find the Ray Sphere, the device that was responsible for the explosion that devastated Empire City.

Rated 16 by PEGI, this game has an open-world environment that lets you scour the city’s streets and buildings as you please. An urban explorer, Cole is highly athletic and acrobatic. His electricity-based powers can be used for offense, defense and movement as well. The node meter on the player’s heads up display tells you how much electrical power your character has stored so that he can perform the many incredible feats he is capable of doing. Cole can recharge himself by draining human beings or other power sources. The Karma level is another feature of this game which influences the progression. With 17 different powers at his disposal, Cole can execute many a baffling acts.
