Halo 3 : O.D.S.T  (for Xbox 360)

The O.D.S.T in Halo 3: O.D.S.T stands for Orbital Drop Shock Trooper which is a special class of fighter in the Halo universe. The Halo 3: O.D.S.T game has been developed by Bungie, the developers of almost all the previous Halo titles. Microsoft Game Studios is the publisher for all Halo games in the hugely popular franchise.

Halo and its variations are mostly only available for the Xbox gaming console with the exception of Halo 1 and Halo 2, which saw a release on Windows based PCs as well. Players of the game will assume the role of UNSC soldiers. UNSC is the alliance of human nations to form a space faring organization that maintains law and order in all of Earth’s colonies.

The UNSC commandos are also known as Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, mainly because they are deployed above the planet’s surface in special pods that drop into the atmosphere from the space ship above. This allows for rapid deployment such that the troopers can reach the affected areas and quickly get to work on the enemy.

Synopsis and Features:

Halo 3: O.D.S.T has a storyline that takes place soon after the events of Halo 2, and covers events that took place before the start of Halo 3. In this game, you do not take on the role of the iconic Masterchief, but that of a Shock Trooper who is caught in a bloody war against the Covenant’s massive invasion on Earth’s distant colonies. One colony in particular is of prime importance to the Troopers and this is none other than New Mombasa which has been reduced to rubble. The team is interested in this ruined city because a group of their former teammates went missing here. It is your job to finally get to the bottom of it and solve the mystery. 

The game also contains within it a mode of multiplayer fighting sequence known as the Firefight, where players from around the world can come together to form a team and face off against waves of enemies in order to score points. The longer you and your squad survive, the more points you accumulate. The Halo 3 multiplayer comes with many extras and maps. The game extras come in the form of extra weapons, ammunition types, transport options and other forms of game goodies.

The game was conceived initially as a small project just to fill the void that would form in between Halo 3 and Halo Reach. However, the popularity of the game skyrocketed after the initial few days of release and it thus became a major title from Bungie. The game is available currently only for the Xbox 360 and has since broken all sales records of previous Halo titles released by Microsoft Game Studios. Halo 3 O.D.S.T allows you to play as one of the Shock Troopers and experience all the events that lead up to the story of Halo 3. All this is seen through the eyes of an Orbital Trooper’s eyes and perspective.

Search for clues about the scattered First Squad and try to piece the puzzle together in hopes of finding the members again. The attack on a fallen New Mombasa by the Covenant is another puzzling mystery for members of the Second Squad as there is nothing left in the city for the Covenant or anyone else. This is the beginning of a gripping mystery that unravels slowly before you as you keep completing missions and unlocking more extensions to the story. The release of this game is sure to add an innovative twist to the Halo universe that fans of the series have come to know and love.
